I loved everything about this session! Micah is the younger brother of a dear life long friend of mine. I still remember the day he was born. It was surreal to see him all grown up. He is such a bright young man with a great future ahead of him.

Thanks for looking! To book your senior session email kristi@urbanbphotography.com.
I’m cleaning out some files on my computer, and realizing I have a picture hoarding problem. I have the hardest time deleting images even if they are backed up…almost like I’ll forget to ever look at them again or something. Unfortunately this causes my computer to run slowly and I’m forced to delete or face a major crash….in this process I found these and realized I had never shared them. These two girls are such beauties…..stay tuned for some more sessions I never got around to blogging! I remember this session I was very large and very pregnant with my baby boy!

I know spring is supposedly right around the corner….I know everyone is eager for this snow to melt….as it is falling heavily outside of my window right now! ugh. It’s no secret I absolutely love senior sessions and I am missing it big time today….so ready for senior season! Many students wait until late summer early fall to contact me for their pictures, so I’m sending out a little incentive to start early this year! That way I will be able to meet more of you….as my monthly availability is limited. Contact me soon, can’t wait to meet you!

I posted this a while back on my photography facebook page, but my blog and websites often get left behind….working on setting aside time for this! These sessions would be perfect for some fun snow shots, a cozy indoor session, or adding some winter pictures to your senior session!

I have had the pleasure of spending time with Ryder and his awesome family multiple times throughout his first couple of years of life. I have loved seeing how he has grown, and watching his personality emerge more with each session. I’ve loved getting to know you guys and truly appreciate you trusting me in capturing these moments for you.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween! This year we dressed up as a family and spent Halloween up in Moorhead so Aubrey could trick-or-treat with her cousins. We had so much fun, I thought Aubrey would really get a kick out of it if we stayed in character throughout the evening, but when we got to Concordia and I was stumbling along like I didn’t have a brain she said “Mom, don’t pretend…go back there!” haha I guess I was embarrassing her.
Here are a few pictures of my little clan. Our dog Sophie was supposed to be toto, but she was so busy running around that she didn’t actually get in many pictures.

A couple of nights ago I fell even more in love with my little girl. Shooting alone with her ignites my passion for photography like no other. She is my muse, my baby girl, my sunshine. I adore her beyond words and am more proud of her everyday. I have been dying over these images of her. She is starting Kindergarten in less than two weeks….my eyes have filled with tears at least once everyday for a while now…usually after I tuck her in at night. I’ve heard from many parents that the child is never the same after that first day, and I’m just not ready for that. So I’m hanging on tight, trying to absorb as much of her as possible, and trying not to let her see that it is quite hard for me. I am so proud and happy that she is excited and ready for school, I’m eager to hear what her teacher thinks of my bright little pumpkin. I hope that she meets some great kids who “want to be friends with her”
the other night after soccer she was saying how she heard other girls asking each other if they wanted to be friends but how nobody had asked her. That sort of thing breaks a mama’s heart. So I’m extra sentimental about this session with her, I see a change in her face since the last time we shot alone together. Some of them I see expressions from when she was two or three, whereas others I see a girl that looks so grown up and new to me. I am sharing a ton of images here because each one captured a piece of my heart. I know many parents out there can relate this time of year, whether it be Kindergarten, HS graduation, college, marriage…..I have many steps along the way….this is just the begining and I hope I am lucky enough to witness them all.

This school set up was amazing, I owe Krista a HUGE thank you for giving me the opportunity to jump into her mini session setup for a little bit. Chek out her work here, if you missed her mini sessions you’ll want to mark your calendar for next year!

I hope you all had a safe and fun time ringing in the new year! Wishing you all the best, and looking forward to meeting the new people photography will bring into my life this year….every year I am thankful for each one of you!
Hi there! I know it has been way way way too long…..fact of the matter is I have completely let my blog and website go this past year. It is always on my list of things to do but honestly not very high up on the list so it just seemed that I never got here.
Many people ask me if I am still doing photography and the answer is yes!! I’ve just been horrible at posting the work I have been doing. This past year I cut back A LOT however, I’ve gone from my busiest months of 8-9 sessions a month to not accepting more than 3 per month. It was a change I had to make to put my family first. Having a new baby and now being a mom of two, I don’t want to be remembered as a mom who is always working on the computer. I’m not a good wife or mother when I get too stressed out, and even with three sessions a month that kept me plenty busy! Most of you know that I also work at Mayo as a CT Technologist, and some changes have been made to our policies for time off which will really restrict time the time I have to put towards photography. So until I am able to drop down in my fte at Mayo I will continue to only accept 2-3 sessions per month and can’t guarantee I will get any better at this blogging thing but I will try my best….I really do love sharing my images with all of you! I’ve decided for 2012 I am not going to take any newborn clients and hope to focus primarily on children and high school seniors.
I hope you all are enjoying the holiday season, and get to spend it with friends and loved ones! I thought I’d share the holiday card photo session I did of my beautiful nieces. This was the only day we had where the weather was decent and although the temperature was bearable it was so incredibly windy!! But these girls were troopers!

Here is the front of their Christmas Card…..

and the back…..

Safe travels to everyone on the road and in the air to be with family and friends for the Holidays!!!
